Our vineyards are situated in the Pinardere area of Ozbek village, positioned 2 kilometers northwest of Urla Public Hospital, at coordinates 38°20’03” N – 26°43’30″E.
On limestone bedrock, clay loam texture soil has high calcareous levels (25% to 35% active lime) depending on the depth, slightly alkaline soil with a pH between 7.60 and 7.80. Our soil, which is between sufficient and low in terms of organic matter, is a marginal agricultural soil with the general characteristics of our region.
The vineyards are approximately 55 years old. Approximately half of the vine stock was planted in 2017, with the remaining portion scheduled for planting in 2022. We will grow with a 220 x 100 cm spacing in a north-south direction. Our vineyards consistently face south with an average slope of 5%. We train our vines with a 2-cord, 6-wire VSP (Vertical Shoot Position) system.
